Chicago extended its MLS unbeaten streak to seven in front of 63,094 fans on the lakefront
CHICAGO (Sept. 9, 2026) – Chicago Fire FC (11-6-6, 39 points) earned a 1-1 draw against Inter Miami CF (12-4-8, 44 points) Wednesday night at Soldier Field.
A Club-record crowd of 63,094 was on hand to witness the Fire play their seventh consecutive match without a loss in league play. Forward Robert Lewandowski tallied in a third-straight game as goalkeeper Chris Brady made six massive saves.
The sold out Soldier Field crowd propelled the Men in Red to the opening goal of the match just 10 minutes in. Playing in the midfield, Robin Lod played the ball back to Andrew Gutman. The left back peeled away from a defender before whipping in a pinpoint cross to the far side of the box, where Lewandowski arrived to volley the opener home.
The match settled into a tense, chippy affair, with neither side able to break through for the remainder of the first half. Shortly after returning to the pitch, the visitors earned a corner kick. Miami captain Leo Messi placed a ball perfectly for center back Casemiro to head away from a diving Brady and in for the equalizer. Neither side could materialize further chances in front of two solid backlines, splitting the points on a raucous Wednesday night.
NEXT MATCH:Â Chicago closes out a two-game homestand against the New England Revolution on Sunday afternoon on the shores of Lake Michigan.
