CHICAGO (May 10, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC wraps up a three-game homestand Saturday afternoon against Atlanta United FC at Soldier Field. Kickoff on the lakefront is set for 1:30 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast across the globe on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and transmitted locally in English on wlsam.com and in Spanish on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.

Chicago Fire FC Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following Starting XI tasked with remaining unbeaten in this homestand:

  • Two changes have been made to the Starting XI that recorded the Fire’s second clean sheet of the season last Saturday against Orlando City SC.
  • Goalkeeper Jeff Gal will make his first start in Major League Soccer one week after making his debut in the 40th minute of the match against Orlando. He will be tasked with getting the team’s third clean sheet in one week following the 0-0 draw against Orlando last Saturday and the 4-0 shutout of Detroit City FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 match on Wednesday.
  • Defender Sam Rogers returns to the Starting XI for the eighth time this season. The center back will line up next to Fire captain Jack Elliott in the backline, as well as Jonathan Dean and Andrew Gutman at right and left back, respectively.
  • The Homegrown trio of Mauricio Pineda, Sergio Oregel, Jr., and Brian Gutiérrez starts together for the second consecutive MLS match and fifth time all season.
  • Seeking a league leading eighth goal in MLS play – and ninth across all competitions – is forward Hugo Cuypers, who has started every match this season for Chicago.
  • Seeking a milestone of his own is winger Jonathan Bamba, who is one assist short of the league lead in the category with five all season. He will set up on the left, opposite right winger Philip Zinckernagel, who starts his 11th game of the year.
  • Goalkeeper Chris Brady (suspended); defenders Leonardo Barroso (Lower Body), Carlos Terán (Lower Body) and Chase Gasper (Lower Body); and midfielders David Poreba (Lower Body) and Chris Mueller (Not Due to Injury) are unavailable for selection today.
  • Available off the bench are goalkeeper Bryan Dowd; defenders Christopher Cupps and Omar González; midfielders Rominigue Kouamé, Maren Haile-Selassie, Kellyn Acosta, Omari Glasgow, and Dje D’Avilla; and forward Tom Barlow.
