Chicago Fire FC ties up a two-game road trip Saturday night against CF Montréal. The match will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT at Stade Saputo and will be broadcast across the globe on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. It will be transmitted locally in English on wlsam.com and in Spanish on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.
The Fire will face Montréal coming off a 2-2 draw at Atlanta United FC on Wednesday night, earning their first league point at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following Starting XI tasked with taking another three points back to Chicago:
- Four changes have been made to the Starting XI that earned a 2-2 draw just three days ago in Atlanta.
- After collecting his second goal of 2025 to take a lead on Wednesday, Maren Haile-Selassie will make his second start of the year on the right wing. The midfielder made his last start on June 7 against D.C. United, scoring his first goal of the regular season in what would turn into a 7-1 rout of the Black and Red in our nation’s capital.
- Leonardo Barroso returns to the Starting XI at right back in place of Jonathan Dean, who started Wednesday’s match in his home state. The Portuguese defender will start his sixth match opposite left back Andrew Gutman, who makes a career-high 23rd start in a single season tonight.
- Rominigue Kouamé will anchor the midfield alongside Homegrown midfielder Mauricio Pineda, both of whom start a match in the same lineup for the first time since Chicago’s 3-1 win at Orlando City SC on May 31. The pair both appeared as substitutes in the second half of Wednesday’s match and will be joined by Brian Gutiérrez in the center of the pitch in his 17th start of the year.
- Joining Barroso and Gutman in the backline will be the center back duo of Sam Rogers and Jack Elliott, the latter of whom dons the captain’s armband tonight. They will be tasked with assisting Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady in getting his second clean sheet of the season and the team’s third.
- MLS All-Star Philip Zinckernagel will start for the 21st time this season looking to make league history. With one goal or assist against Montréal, the Danish winger would tie Josef Martínez for most consecutive matches with at least one goal contribution in league history at 10. He joins Haile-Selassie and forward Hugo Cuypers in the Fire attack. Cuypers will also look for his 13th goal of the year, the most for a Fire player since forward CJ Sapong in 2019.
- Defenders Carlos Terán (Lower Body) and Christopher Cupps (Lower Body), and midfielders Chris Mueller (Not Due to Injury), and David Poreba (Lower Body) and Sergio Oregel Jr. (Yellow Card Accumulation) are unavailable for selection tonight.
- Goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Jonathan Dean and Omar González; midfielders Kellyn Acosta Omari Glasgow, Dje D’Avilla and Sam Williams; and forwards Tom Barlow and Jonathan Bamba will be available off the bench tonight.
